Description

Molybdenum is classified as a transition metal in the periodic table. It is a metallic grey with a melting point of 2,617°C, a density of 10.2 g/cm³ and a vapour pressure of 10-4 Torr at 2,117°C. Due to its strength and high melting point, molybdenum is mainly alloyed with other metals to form corrosion resistant materials and can be found in tools, aircraft parts and electrical contacts. Molybdenum is vaporised under vacuum to make modern displays, semiconductors and sensors.

* This is a recommendation based on our experience with these materials in our sputter guns. Rates are based on unbonded targets and are material specific. Bonded targets should be operated at lower power to avoid bonding failure. Bonded targets should be operated at 20 watts/square inch or less depending on the material.
