Description

Indium is a transition metal with properties similar to gallium. It is soft and metallic grey in colour. It has a density of 7.3 g/cm³, a melting point of 157°C and a vapour pressure of 10-4 Torr at 742°C. One of its remarkable properties is its ability to adhere to glass and similar surfaces. Indium compounds are evaporated under vacuum to form thin films in the manufacture of electronic and photovoltaic cells. Pure indium is used as a film layer in semiconductors.

* This is a recommendation based on our experience with these materials in our sputter guns. Rates are based on non-bonded targets and are material specific. Bonded targets should be operated at lower power to avoid bonding failure. Bonded targets should be operated at 20 watts/square inch or less depending on the material.
