Description

Niobium is a chemical element in the periodic table of elements, with atomic number 41 and symbol Nb. In North America, the outdated name columbium, symbol Cb, is still commonly used. A rare heavy metal, it is grey in colour and easy to forge. Niobium can be extracted from the minerals niobite and loparite[2]. It is mainly used in metallurgy to produce special steels and to improve weldability.

* This is a recommendation based on our experience with these materials in our sputter guns. Rates are based on unbonded targets and are material specific. Bonded targets should be operated at lower power to avoid bonding failure. Bonded targets should be operated at 20 watts/square inch or less depending on the material.
